A journalist who called Mobile the third most miserable city in the U.S. will soon visit the area.
In March, a Business Insider article rated Mobile a pretty miserable city based on data from a Gallup well-being index. The reporter who wrote the article has never been to Mobile or any of the cities on the list, but plans to change that.
Julie Zeveloff is flying to Mobile Thursday to see for herself. People from Mobile were so upset about the article they began tweeting her invitations to the city, complete with pictures of "wish you were here" signs.
Zeveloff writes in a article previewing her trip that, "I do care about getting a real perspective on the city. As the saying goes, there are lies, damn lies and statistics. I suppose I'll soon find out where the Gallup stats belong."
