It could be as amazing and hopeful as it sounds: a pill that stops leukemia in its tracks.
Doctors at Ohio State say they have witnessed a medical breakthrough. A total of 900 patients took part in a trial test for the drug ibrutinib. Doctors say every one of the 900 patients has gone into remission.
For patients like Dennis Hickey, they say it's nothing short of a miracle. He defied the odds associated with stage 4 terminal leukemia.
The results from two clinical studies with ibrutinib have also been published in the New England Journal of Medicine.
