"Made in Alabama" means big business when it comes to vehicle sales. Dealers across the state say Alabama-made Hyundai, Honda and Mercedes vehicles move quickly off the lot.
Workers at plants all over the state are working over time to meet demand and it creates a multi-billion dollar impact each month.
Rob Gallik is with Tameron Hyundai in Hoover is experiencing deja vu in the car business.
"Being in the business right now is a lot like 2005, 06, 07, going through inventory as fast as we can get it in," he said.
To put that success in perspective, Gallik says when inventory comes to the lot, it takes about 40 days for a customer to drive away in it.
"Most time you see a dealer go anywhere from 60 days to six months," he said.
Honda, Hyundai and Mercedes are all having record sales so far in 2013. Executive Director of the Alabama Automotive Manufacturers Association Lew Drummond says the numbers mean a bright future for Alabama.
"It says we have a solid automobile base. The jobs will be there, growth is going to be there," he said.
