BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Birmingham police have released the identity of the woman whose body was found near East Lake Park on Monday morning.

The victim is identified as Catina Skipper, a 37-year-old homeless woman. Her body was found at 5:50 a.m. in a ditch near the alley behind 216 83rd Street North.

Birmingham Police Sgt. Johnny Williams said someone walking by spotted the woman's body and contacted police.

No one has been arrested or charged yet in the case.
