JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL (WBRC) -

The investigation into Jefferson County car tag line employees allegedly taking money for faster service is complete.

In May, FOX6 News obtained video of a Jefferson County tag office employee apparently using her position to make some extra money.

County manager Tony Petelos says this was an isolated incident and the revenue department is taking steps to prevent this from happening again. Two employees were fired during the course of the investigation.

"We're looking at what we need to do in order to work with our employees as far as the policy and training they need to go through," Petelos said.

The county has been trying to address the long line problem for some time. Commissioners have selected a new software vendor.

If negotiations work out they could move forward with a new software program around Labor Day.
