BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Birmingham Police have arrested and charged a man in the Tuesday shooting death of Edwin Wayne.

Robert Fitts, 20, of Birmingham, has been charged with murder. He is being held at the Jefferson County Jail on no bond.

Police say that Wayne, 19, and Fitts got into an argument inside Justin's Food Mart located at 224 12th St. SW. in the Rising-West Princeton neighborhood.

Sgt. Johnny Williams says the argument continued outside to the parking lot, where Wayne was shot. Fitts allegedly then fled the scene on foot and Wayne was taken to UAB, where he was later pronounced dead.
