Italian steak sandwich

Chef Donnel Johnson's Italian Steak Sandwich

1 lb ribeye steak
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 tablespoon minced rosemary
1 teaspoon onion power
Salt and pepper to taste
2 ciabatta rolls
1 cup watercress
Cilantro
Sliced onions
Mushrooms


Dressing

1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup roast red pepper
1/4 cup cream cheese with onions and chives
1 tablespoon cilantro
1/2 teaspoon sugar
Salt and pepper to taste

Puree mayonnaise, peppers, cream cheese in food processor. Add cilantro, sugar, salt and pepper.


Seasoning steak with salt, pepper, rosemary and onion power. Heat grill, place steak, onions and mushroom on grill. Grill steak 5-8 minutes, mushroom and onions 3-5 minutes. Brush ciabatta rolls the cut side with oil and place on grill for 2-3 minutes. Assemble sandwich spread dressing on top and bottom roll. Place watercress, cilantro,steak, onion and mushrooms and top with dressing cut sandwiches in half and serve.
