MONTGOMERY, AL (WBRC) -

As the traffic increases heading into the Fourth of July holiday, ALDO officials hope to create safer roads by temporarily halting roadwork.

There will be no temporary lane closures on Alabama interstates between 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 3 and midnight Sunday, July 7.

Construction, maintenance and roadwork will be limited during this time for the safety of drivers and crews.

Alabama State Troopers will also increase their patrols in "hot spots," or areas that often have accidents. Troopers determine these spots on crash data.
