NORTHPORT, AL (WBRC) -

Even though Northport has a new ban on fireworks, stands on the edge of town are attracting customers.

The ordinance passed last December and a fireworks seller says she hasn't seen much difference.

"I feel like sales have been better this year so everybody seems excited to celebrate Fourth of July with family," Karlie Wilson of Ninja Fireworks said.

Mayor Bobby Herndon says the tax revenue loss is minimum compared to costs to respond to fire and emergency calls related to fireworks.
