Fireworks shows plan to go on, despite wet forecast

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Cities planning fireworks shows on the Fourth of July claim weather issues will not dampen their patriotic spirit. No one has cancelled their fireworks displays so far.

At Vulcan Park on Tuesday, crews with Pyro Productions were getting ready for "Thunder on the Mountain." The group is also in charge of 59 other shows around the state. All are still expected to go on as planned. The same could be said for the shows in Oxford, Montevallo and in Tuscaloosa.

Fox6 has helped sponsor Birmingham's Thunder on the Mountain for years. This year is no exception. The fireworks extravaganza starts at 9 Thursday night. As usual, you can watch it from the comfort of your home; we'll air the entire show on FOX6 and FoxAlabamaLive.com and on your WBRC News app.
