HOOVER, AL (WBRC) -

Hoover police have arrested the man suspected of robbing a Regions bank in Inverness on Thursday.

The robbery happened around 9:20 a.m. July 11 at the Regions at 102 Inverness Plaza.

Later that day, police released a surveillance image of the suspect to the media. Less than 12 hours after the robbery, someone called Crime Stoppers with a tip about the suspect's identity.

Hoover police identified the suspect as Eric Nilse Thomas, a 49-year-old man from Alabaster. He was arrested less than 24 hours after the robbery and charged with two counts of first degree robbery.

Thomas is being held on a total bond of $120,000 and is waiting to be transferred to the Shelby County Jail.
