Live and direct from Radio Row!
Station after station with their respective hosts talkin' football. It's all happening at the Winfrey Hotel in Hoover, the site of the 2013 SEC Media Days.
Matt Wyatt used to quarterback the Mississippi State Bulldogs in the late '90s. Today, Wyatt sees the game from a difference perspective. He's behind the mic with 'Supertalk' radio from Mississippi.
"Our fans expect us to be here,' said Wyatt.
Chris Vernon is with 92.9 FM out of Memphis.
"This is really the first time we really start talking about coaches, players and the games coming up," said Vernon.
It is here where Wyatt and Vernon offer insights, predictions and anything football related. One of the biggest topics being tossed around this week is that quarterback from Texas A&M; Johnny Manziel's troubles off the field.
"Here you have a Heisman winner and many people are wondering what's going on especially when you consider what happened over the weekend when he left the Manning camp early," said Vernon.
Because the SEC has won the last 7 national football titles there are more radio stations covering the event than before. In fact, Winfrey Hotel personnel had to make room beyond the main foyer for additional stations.
"It gets bigger every year," said Vernon.
It's only day one of the SEC Media Days, one day before the rowdy fans arrive. That means more good material to talk about on Radio Row.
