BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

A four-year-old girl is still recovering in the hospital after being shot twice last week.

Tamerra Harper was asleep at her home when someone opened fire, hitting her in the head and arm. Her grandmother says a surgery to repair Tamerra's elbow went well Tuesday. She is listed in critical but stable condition.

Police have arrested one man in the case and are still searching for a second suspect. Kendrick Lakeith Hyche, 23, is charged with attempted murder, first degree assault and discharging a weapon into a vehicle or building. Hyche is believed to be the getaway driver in the case.

They say the suspects and two young men who lived at the house had an ongoing argument that escalated to the shooting.

If you can help, contact Tuscaloosa County Crime Stoppers with your anonymous tips at (205) 752-7867 or text "TUSC" and the suspect's information to CRIMES (274637). Tips leading to an arrest could be eligible for a cash reward.
