Fmr. 'Bama and Troy football player Jeremy Elder dead at 25

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Details are limited, but WSFA 12 News has confirmed that former University of Alabama and Troy University football player Jeremy Elder has died.

Elder is said to have died Wednesday morning of a massive heart attack. He was 25 years old.

Elder, a College Park, Georgia native spent the 2007 season with the University of Alabama Crimson Tide as a redshirt freshman.

After leaving Alabama, Elder transferred to Georgia Military College where he suffered a season-ending injury in the first game of the 2008 season.

Elder finished college playing at Troy University during the 2011 season. He majored in Social Science and minored in Recreation.
