The Montgomery Performing Arts Centre is announcing some major entertainment acts booked to play in Montgomery. Four well known international acts are coming to the MPAC and tickets go on sale Thursday, July 26 with Ticketmaster and at the MPAC Box Office.
"These are all well known performers and will bring a great deal of entertainment to downtown Montgomery, said Mike Eveleth, general manager of the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel and Spa at the Convention Center. "We remain committed to bringing top acts to MPAC and believe these will be very popular with people living in the River Region and beyond," said Eveleth. "I can't wait to see a sea of tropical shirts on Tallapoosa Street for The Beach Boys and families coming together to experience Blue Man Group. It will be great to welcome back the iconic Willie Nelson and we can only imagine an Alice Cooper show on Halloween. Tickets go on sale this morning for all four shows and we look forward to welcoming you to MPAC."
The Beach Boys – Wednesday, October 16
For more than 50 years, the Beach Boys have been bringing good vibrations to listeners around the world. Formed in Hawthorne, Cal. in 1961 and called "America's Band," The Beach Boys have had more than 80 songs make the charts with 36 of them US Top 40 hits. This once in a generation band brought us timeless tunes such as "Barbara Ann," "Surfin' U.S.A.," "California Girls" and many more.
The Beach Boys have sold more than 100 million records worldwide and headlined numerous tours. In 2012, the Beach Boys recorded a new album and launched a full-scale reunion tour. Several core members of The Beach Boys have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the group is regarded as an important catalyst in the evolution of pop music. This band is one of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful bands of all time.

Willie Nelson and Family – Sunday, October 27
One of the most recognized artists in country music, Willie Nelson wrote his first song and age seven, joined his first band at 10 and over the course of his career has recorded more than sixty studio albums. Willie Nelson is a figurehead of Outlaw Country, a sub category of country music that developed in the late 1960s as a reaction to the conservative Nashville sound.Willie's hit songs such as "On the Road Again," "Crazy" and "Always on My Mind" continue to be favorites among fans of all music genres. He has toured continuously and recorded and performed with other acts such as Phish, Johnny Cash and Toby Keith.
He is widely recognized as an American icon and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1993 and received the Kennedy Center Honors in 1998. In 2013, he received an honorary doctorate from the Berklee College of Music. Nelson continues to tour extensively with his family, release albums and explore other genres of music such as reggae, blues, jazz and folk.

Alice Cooper – Thursday, October 31
Considered "The Godfather of Shock Rock," Alice Cooper is an American rocker whose career has spanned six decades with shows that have featured guillotines, electric chairs, fake blood and boa constrictors. Cooper draws inspiration from horror movies, vaudeville and garage rock to put together a performance designed to shock. One of the world's most beloved heavy metal entertainers, Cooper is credited with helping to shape the look and sound of heavy metal.
Alice Cooper started out in Detroit in the 1960s and the original Alice Cooper band debuted with the hits "I'm Eighteen and "School's Out" in the early 1970s. Cooper began a solo career in 1975 with the album "Welcome to My Nightmare," and in 2011, "Welcome to My Nightmare 2" was released; his 19th solo album. That same year, the Alice Cooper band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Blue Man Group – Monday, January 27 and Tuesday, January 28
