Alabama State Troopers are confirming that the crash they're working along Interstate 65 in Lowndes County involves a fatality.
Details are limited at this time, but authorities say the crash occurred at 2 p.m. in the northbound lanes at mile marker 147. That mile marker is near Fort Deposit.
One person died as a result of the crash. Two other people are injured, though authorities could not say the severity of the injuries.
A WSFA 12 News crew on the scene reported two vehicles involved, a white Geo Tracker and a grey Toyota Camry.
The Geo came to rest down an embankment near the wood line, and the Toyota, with heavy front end damage, was sitting on the roadway.
