BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

A police chase came to an end with a two-vehicle crash in Homewood Tuesday night.

Officers with Birmingham's Crime Reduction Team were looking for a man wanted on attempted murder and robbery warrants. They found him in a park and called a marked car to assist.

When police tried to pull the suspect over, he drove away, hitting several vehicles in the process. The chase ended around 6 p.m. in a crash at Firefighter Lane and Oxmoor Road in Homewood.

An innocent driver was hurt in the wreck. She was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover from her injuries.

Birmingham Police Sgt. Johnny Williams says the primary suspect they were chasing had a friend with him. The friend had outstanding warrants for drugs, so he was also arrested.

Both suspects were taken to a hospital, then they will be sent to jail.

One person was injured. Police have two people in custody.
