Viewers watching WSFA 12 News on the Time Warner Cable System out of Enterprise will be able to keep WSFA on their channel guides past the previously announced July 31 deadline for removal.
When WRGX, the new Dothan designated market area NBC station exercised their network exclusivity, Time Warner customers in the Wiregrass were sent notices that starting July 31, WSFA would no longer be available in the area.
Scott Pryzwansky with Time Warner Cable confirms that WSFA 12 News will remain on channel 11, but will no longer be available on the HD channel - channel 706.
WRGX, owned by Gray Television, Inc. and operated by WTVY-TV will be viewable on that HD channel.
WSFA is "significantly viewed" in Coffee and Dale counties meaning the area cable companies have the option of keeping WSFA on their systems in those counties despite the WRGX network exclusivity. At this time, WSFA will only be available to Wiregrass viewers in Enterprise on Time Warner Cable.
For those outside of the Enterprise area, WSFA also produces First at Four and the News at Nine on WDFX Fox 34 in Dothan on channel 6. All of WSFA's newscasts are streamed on WSFA.com. Viewers may also be able to receive WSFA by antenna.
Viewers outside of the Enterprise area who want to keep WSFA on cable should contact their cable providers.
Any questions regarding this change may be directed to Time Warner Cable's customer service department at 1-800-892-2253. Or, call their corporate office at 1-336-665-0160.
