TALLADEGA, AL (WBRC) -

Authorities are investigating what may be a police-involved shooting in Talladega.

It happened on Chinnabee Road in the northern part of Talladega. Police are still on the scene, a wooded area next to a church. So far, police haven't commented on the case.

However, Charles Yates told Fox6 News his son Christopher Yates was shot once in the hip and airlifted to UAB Hospital. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Yates says his son was shot by an officer after a brief car chase, followed by a manhunt in the woods.

Talladega police say they'll issue a statement later.
