VAN ZANDT COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

The suspect in a Van Zandt County manhunt that started August 8 has been arrested.

According to Van Zandt County Sheriff Lindsey Ray, 42-year-old Steven Frank Cranford was taken into custody at an apartment complex in Hunt County Wednesday around 10 a.m. Cranford has been staying at the apartment located at 900 Main Street in Quinlan.

The sheriff's department and U.S. Marshals worked together to follow through on an anonymous tip that Cranford was staying at the apartment complex. They set up surveillance cameras outside the apartment and managed to catch the suspect in the parking lot.

"He'll be in here a while, he has business he has to take care of," said Sheriff Ray.

Cranford had only one warrant for his arrest issued in Van Zandt County, but also had three warrants issued in Missouri, one warrant in Kansas, one warrant out of Illinois, and a total of four in Texas. Authorities were still confirming warrants Wednesday afternoon, but Ray does not believe the suspect has been arraigned.

His bond is recommended to be set at $75,000.

Cranford was originally spotted at a Canton gas station August 8. He was traveling with 34-year-old Jolyn Rene Baugh of Wills Point. Baugh was taken into custody, but Cranford managed to flee before deputies arrived.
