The right southbound lane of I-59 has been shut down for an hour at the Bush Blvd. exit due to a fuel spill from an 18-wheeler.
Birmingham police and fire officials say an 18-wheeler was leaking fuel, but they could not confirm how many gallons have spilled. The closed lane is causing traffic to slow down for three miles.
Further up the same interstate, a wreck was reported in the Birmingham and East Lake area. Three lanes were reportedly blocked at 1st Avenue North/Exit 132.
At 11:22 a.m., FOX6 Traffic tweeted that it would take drivers 20 minutes to get from the I-459 interchange to Roebuck Parkway due to the East Lake wreck.
