Well-known Alabama turkey farmer Bill Bates, 89, has passed away.
You probably know his name from his family businesses, Bates Turkey Farm in Ft. Deposit, Ala., and the Bates House of Turkey in Greenville, Ala.
According to Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home, Bates passed away at his home in Logan, Ala., Monday.
Every year, it's always a Bates turkey pardoned by Alabama's Governor at Thanksgiving time.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
