BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Birmingham Police have released some 9-1-1 calls from the morning a UPS plane crashed near the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport, killing the pilot and co-pilot.

Captain Henry Irby III says that eight calls were made between 4:48 a.m. and 5:19 a.m. about the crash. Police have released three of those calls to FOX6.

In one call, a witness says the plane broke apart and in yet another, the caller says "we heard some noise and then a crash and a big ole blaze and a cloud."

The cause of the crash is still under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).

Below is a transcript of each released call:

Caller: Hello?

911: Ma'am, this is 911. Do you have an emergency?

Caller: Yes, plane done crashed. Over here by airport...plane come down.

911: OK. Where is it at?

Caller: Over here by the airport. Eastlake Boulevard.

911: Eastlake Boulevard? There's a plane crash?

Caller: Yeah.

911: Do you see the plane crashed?

Caller: Yeah, I'm backing my car up now.

911: How big...is it a large plane?

Caller: It's a large plane. Look like it broke up.

911: OK. Stay on the line. Stay on the line for the fire department. Do not hang up, ok?

Caller: Yes, uh. I live on...street. Something came down a few minutes ago...90th...uh... Airport Road. We think it was a plane. It came across there...there was a big ole blaze and then a crash.

911: OK, and you say it came from what area?

Caller: Over in airport area, right off airport road.

911: OK, so a big flash?

Caller: It was, we heard some noise and then a crash and a big ole blaze and a cloud.

911: Hold on...let me connect you to fire and rescue so they can respond.

Caller: Yes, my wife just called and I walked down to the scene at Airport Road. Airport Road, over on the airport side...and there is still a big blaze. I'm not sure if that's a plane...most of it's on the landing strip over there, but for right now I hadn't heard any emergency vehicles from the FAA, Birmingham come up this way on airport road. (inaudible) Not sure of the address...it's 90th Place... past 90th Place and Airport Road.

911: What is it? A wreck?

Caller: It seemed like a...I think it was a plane. (inaudible) There's a landing strip that come across from there...and you just heard a big blaze....bomb, like. And a streak of fire...and still on the far end on the airport property a fire...that's blazing real good, uh, on their property.

911; OK, let me connect you with the fire department...Stay on the line.
