This play is a poignant yet real tale of six women, Effie, Bea, Rena, Mae Lee, Ellen and Roalea, who were foot soldiers of the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960's racially charged South in Birmingham, Alabama as its most troubled and dangerous time. Although they did not initially know each other at the onset of the movement, they met at Miles College in Birmingham and soon realized that their ideologies about civil rights were the same. Each of them was impacted by the racial bigotry imposed on African-Americans during this time and they struggled to find strength through a rare and enlightening friendship as they discussed fifty years later the reality of what took place when they were teens.
