(RNN) – College football, meet Jameis Winston.
Florida State's red shirt freshman quarterback threw for four touchdowns and ran for another in one audacious debut.
The five-star recruit from Hueytown, AL, the backyard of Nick Saban's building Crimson dynasty, threw twice as many touchdowns as incompletions, only failing to connect on two throws.
In all, Winston finished 25-of-27 and put up 356 yards, leading the Seminoles to a 41-13 thumping of Pittsburgh in the Panther's debut night in the ACC.
Winston's favorite target of the night was tight end Nick O'Leary, who he connected with three times in the end zone.
Winston takes over for EJ Manuel, a first-round draft pick by the Buffalo Bills who lead FSU to an Orange Bowl win and a 12-2 record last season.
Both teams have a bye on Saturday and won't play again until Sept. 14.
The Seminoles face Nevada in Tallahassee and Pittsburgh will take on New Mexico at home.
