A Hokes Bluff woman says she doesn't remember much about pulling the trigger the night her husband was shot to death.
Susann Kutschenreuter is charged with murder in the July 2010 shooting death of her husband Joel David Kutschenreuter.
Wednesday, Kutschenreuter took the stand in her own defense. She says her husband's religious beliefs about women in the "Church of Israel," informed how he treated her.
She said her husband often raped her but claimed the Bible said there's no such thing as raping his own wife.
She said she was raped the night her husband was shot, and she remembered that, but not the actual shooting.
Kutschenreuter's son, Levi, testified Tuesday and corroborated his mother's abuse allegations. He also admitted that his mother never reported the abuse to police.
Prosecutors have maintained the shooting wasn't in self defense, and pointed out the man was shot twice in the back, and once in the back of the head.
