BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

A big sale in Tuscaloosa that has drawn quite a following over the years will take place on Friday. Fans of the sale are actually lined up, ready to go when the doors open.

The sale is called "Buy for Rise" and the money raised goes to the Rise School on the University of Alabama campus. People who are familiar with the Rise School say there is nothing else out there quite like it. The school is a mix of children with and without special needs and those children learn in the classroom together.

Rise has to raise a lot of money to make their work possible, and that is where the sale comes in. Local businesses donate all kinds of merchandise to be sold for Rise. This evening, the items are 75% off the lowest ticketed price. Tomorrow, they are 90% off. Parents of rise students say the money shoppers spend goes toward a lot more than just a good deal.

The sale is Friday from 5-8 p.m. and also Saturday morning.
