If you looked in the sky Monday night just after eight o'clock, you may have noticed a bright light. It was actually a baseball-sized fragment of a comet that entered the earth's atmosphere.
NASA says the fragment moved at a speed of 76,000 miles an hour. Because it moved deep into the earth's atmosphere, it also produced a sonic boom you may have heard.
The meteor disintegrated about 25-miles above the town of Woodstock.
