The embattled Alabama Music Hall of Fame will reopen its doors to the public next month.
Governor Robert Bentley approved a transfer of funds to help reopen the attraction. A ceremony will take place just before the release of the "Muscle Shoals" movie in theaters.
State officials said the museum is an important part of the Shoals history, and they hope this exhibit will bring in visitors from all walks of life.
"The success of the documentary about Muscle Shoals has a lot to do with the timing and the fact that the state has gotten so involved in this. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for a documentary about something so important to this region to be shown throughout the world, and that gives us perfect timing to reopen and reintroduce the Hall of Fame," said Lee Sentell, Director of Alabama Tourism.
The Alabama Music Hall of Fame is set to reopen Oct. 17.
