8 arrested in Birmingham drug bust

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Birmingham police arrested eight people while searching three separate locations for drugs.

Narcotics detectives searched three locations after being tipped off by citizens complaining of drug sales. The officers served the search warrants at the following locations on Monday, Sept. 30.

At 948 47th Place North, detectives arrested one male and charged him with unlawful possession of controlled substances and unlawful possession of marijuana. They also seized crack cocaine, Lortab pills, marijuana and Dilaudid pills, plus a rifle, at the location.

At 1519 19th Street North, Apartment 21, investigators arrested a man and a woman. They also confiscated crack cocaine from the apartment.

Another bust happened at 313 79th Street North. Police arrested two males and three females, charging all of them with unlawful possession of controlled substances. One man and woman were also charged with city misdemeanor warrants. Narcotics officers also found crack cocaine, marijuana and Xanax at the residence.

Birmingham police have not yet released the names of the eight suspects.
