TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) -
A judge has denied youthful offender status for a former University of Alabama football player accused of robbing two UA students earlier in 2013.

According to court records, 21-year-old Eddie Williams will be tried as an adult in both cases.

A youthful offender status could have meant Williams could have kept any convictions secret. This status also limits sentencing and probation lengths for persons under 21. Williams and three other football players accused inthe crimes were under 21 at the time.

Williams, Tyler Hayes, Dennis Pettway and Brent Calloway were all arrested by campus police earlier this year for their alleged role in several robberies. Williams and Calloway were also accused of using stolen credit cards. The young men have since been indicted for the crimes.

Shortly after the arrests, the four were dismissed from the football team and left the University.
