Two charged after stolen tractor discovered during traffic stop

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

The Tuscaloosa Police Department says they have arrested two men after it was discovered they were in possession of a stolen tractor and stolen trailer.

According to officers, police stopped a Chevy Silverado on Wednesday morning in the 5800 block of East McFarland Boulevard. The truck, which was pulling a trailer with a Kubota tractor on it, was stopped due to a traffic violation.

Officers found the Kubota tractor to have been stolen from the 2300 block of Harrison Street and the trailer was stolen from the Northport Housing Authority.

The suspects were each charged with one count of receiving stolen property in the first and second degrees.

33-year-old Antonio Dewarren Gaines and 46-year-old Tyrone Willis are both being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a $45,000 bond.
