BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

A man who works in the Birmingham mayor's office has been indicted for allegedly laundering drug money.

FOX 6 news has confirmed Kenneth Crittenden is an administrative assistant for Birmingham Mayor William Bell who works at the Birmingham Crossplex.

Tuesday, prosecutors allege Crittenden and 10 others conspired to launder money from the sale of drugs including cocaine and heroin by purchasing several cars, including a 2009 Corvette that was titled in the name of Crittenden's personal business, a company called E-Z Auto Sales.

Mayor Bell's office said they have no comment on personnel matters.
