Birmingham, AL (WBRC) - The Magic City Choral Society, along with choirs of Univeristy of Alabama Birmingham, Alabama A&M, and the Ramsey High School honored the children who died in the 16th
Street Baptist Church bombing on Sept. 15, 1963 with a special concert Sunday night.
The is part of the City of Birmingham's 50 Year Commemoration and is an original composition and world premier by Alabama composer K. Lee Scott.
The concert, entitled "Band of
Angels," took place at the Alys Stephens Center.
It was a collaborative effort where people of
all different backgrounds came together to make music. There were a total of
250 singers who participated
Readers at the concerts were survivors from the 16th Street Church bombing. They also shared heir stories prior to the concert memorial.
