BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

One of Birmingham Mayor William Bell's aides arrested in a federal drug case has been put on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

Kenneth Crittenden was arrested last Tuesday and charged with helping a cocaine and heroin drug ring launder money through buying cars titled to his private business, E-Z Autos.

Crittenden works as an administrative assistant to Bell, dealing mainly with the Birmingham Crossplex.

He faces an arraignment in federal court Thursday morning.
