HMA has turned down a Blue Cross/Blue Shield proposal to reinstate four of ten hospitals removed from their network earlier this year.
Woman's Hospital in Flowood was one of the four, but hospital CEO Sherry Pitts says the new proposal has restrictions, conditions and pre-certification requirements for patients there were not in the old agreement.
Last month, ten HMA-owned hospitals around the state were removed from the insurance company's network. BCBS said it was in response to those hospitals filing a lawsuit against the insurance company in June. They claimed they were not being paid correctly.
