TYLER, TX (KLTV) - According to the Smith County Sheriff's Office, Deputy Candice Vaughan was involved in a one-vehicle accident Wednesday morning.

Vaughan was responding to a disturbance on Highway 31 around 1:15 a.m. En route to that location, Vaughan's vehicle hydroplaned on Loop 323 near the intersection of McDonald Road. The department vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree on the driver's side.
