Let's face it. Committing a crime doesn't make a lot of sense.
We have a prime example of that this week as a robber now faces some serious jail time for stealing a simple, inexpensive item.
And he fought through store security to make his way out.
The robber is seen on store surveillance video Aug. 30 entering the SuperTarget store on Carl T. Jones Drive in Huntsville.
He headed for the electronics department, where police say he took a cell phone case and stuffed it under his clothing. The store's loss prevention officers saw him and followed him to the door.
As they confronted him, he shoved the two employees away. The robber is then seen running across the parking lot.
I'm not sure which is more puzzling: this guy committing a crime just to steal a cell phone case or to assault a couple of female employees to get away.
With your help, he'll be dealing with a different sort of "cell," one with steel bars.
This crime went from theft to robbery when he used physical force against the two employees.
It's ironic this crime involved a phone, because you can now use your phone to put him behind bars and collect a cash reward.
