CALHOUN COUNTY, AL (WBRC) -

A Piedmont man has pleaded 'not guilty' in the cold case of a missing Piedmont woman.

Jimmy Steed is charged with murder in the death and disappearance of Carla Fuqua, also of Piedmont. She was last seen in 2009 and her remains were discovered in a wooded area in December 2012.

Investigators say they were investigating Steed for multiple meth labs when his home burned down. He is also suspected in three other missing persons' cases as well, according to investigators.

Steed is being held in the Calhoun County Jail.
