An Oxford man has been indicted on a capital murder charge in the death of a two-year-old boy.
According to the Talladega District Court, a grand jury indicted Bryan Butts, 25, late last month.
The child belonged to Butt's fiancé.
Butts spoke with Fox6 in May and said he was innocent. He said he was making breakfast when he heard a boom. He said the child was laying behind a recliner. Butts said he picked the child up and placed him on the couch and the child went limp.
The coroner said the little boy was beaten to death and died of blunt force trauma. The child died in May.
