Man charged with two McDonald's robberies

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

The Birmingham Police Department says they have made an arrest in connection to two robberies at two different McDonald's restaurants.

Officers began a robbery investigation after the McDonald's on 3013 12th Avenue North was robbed on September 23. The suspect was able to escape the location before officers could arrive. On September 28, officers were alerted to another robbery at the McDonald's at 1700 Finley Boulevard. This time, the suspect was apprehended before he could leave the scene.

Robbery detectives were able to determine that the apprehended suspect was connected to the 12th Avenue robbery. They also found the suspect was released on parole in February 2012 for 1st degree robbery.

Four robbery warrants have been obtained against 33-year-old Christopher Ramon Gunns. He is currently being held in the Jefferson County Jail.
