Gov. Bentley calls special ASU board meeting

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Alabama Governor Robert Bentley is scheduling a special called meeting of the Alabama State University Board of Trustees to discuss the recent preliminary audit and ongoing presidential search.

Gov. Bentley has the authority to call a special board meeting by virtue of his position as the Governor of the State of Alabama. He serves as the President of the Alabama State University Board of Trustees.

The governor's spokeswoman, Jennifer Ardis, said the meeting is slated for Monday, October 28 at the Dunn Oliver Acadome. The meeting will take place at 3:30 p.m.

Ardis says Gov. Bentley sent a letter via email Friday morning to the board of trustees informing them of the meeting.

The governor's office said that the letter informed the board that this will be an open meeting. and motions to move into an executive session will not be entertained.
