Coroner rules Midfield couple's deaths a murder-suicide

MIDFIELD, AL (WBRC) -

A couple found dead inside their burning home in Midfield back in August died in a murder-suicide, according to the coroner's report.

William Jason Flowers, 36, and his wife Jennifer Flowers, 32, were found dead inside a bedroom of a burning home on Woodward Road in Midfield. Firefighters responded to the house fire on Aug. 10.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office said the deaths were from a murder-suicide.

William Flowers took their kids over to a grandmother's house before returning to his home to kill his wife and himself, according to Sgt. Jessie Bell with the Midfield Police Department.

Sgt. Bell says they don't know how Jennifer Flowers died.
