Teen arrested for vehicle break-in in Tuscaloosa

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

The Tuscaloosa Police Crime Suppression Unity says they have arrested a teen after he was allegedly caught breaking and entering a vehicle.

Officers say they were patrolling Grace Street just after midnight on Wednesday when they saw a person inside of a vehicle looking around. When the person noticed the officers, he immediately go out of the vehicle. The officers say they approached the person and were able to determine that the vehicle he was going through was not his and that he did not know the owner. Investigators found probably cause to make an arrest.

18-year-old Derien Rinee Wells is facing one count of unlawful breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. He was placed in the Tuscaloosa County Jail pending a $5,000 bond.
