A Talladega County man has pleaded guilty to trying to hire someone he thought was a KKK member to kill his neighbor.
Allen Morgan is a disabled veteran and he was caught on tape attempting to hire an undercover FBI agent to kill his neighbor.
Several disturbing details came out about the case Thursday morning.
In a phone conversation in August, Morgan admitted to shooting at his neighbor, identified in court by the initials CMM.
Morgan believed CMM raped his wife, although no criminal charges have been filed.
Days after the phone conversation, Morgan met two undercover agents at a motel in Oxford. Morgan gave them a watch, necklace, and firearm to pay for the murder.
When Morgan was taken into custody, he admitted he hired them to kill CMM.
He told the agents he was so mad he wanted to dismember CMM and hang him from a tree like an animal. He said he wanted his neighbor to die a slow and painful death.
Judge Karen Bowdre set Morgan's sentencing for February 27, 2014 at 10 a.m. The maximum sentence he could get is 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
