After scrutinizing attendance at the Alabama-Arkansas game, the University has decided to suspend some student organization seating.
FOX6 has learned that 20 of the 36 student organizations who have block seating at Bryant-Denny Stadium will not have seats at Saturday's game against Tennessee.
The controversy started when a number of student organizations left the Arkansas game early. Student Affairs and SGA reviewed video and pictures from the game to determine what action to take.
Officials say this is the first sanction leveled against these organizations and is only in effect for the Tennessee game. According to the student organization handbook, a second sanction would result in the suspension of seating for the remainder of the season. A third offense results in the loss of block seating for the 2014 season.
SGA President Jimmy Taylor sent an email last week to all student organizations reminding them that they've signed an agreement to stay until the end of the game.
