Nearly 10 days after a starving and emaciated dog was found by a WSFA 12 News employee and two others while he was out shooting video for a story, officials with the Montgomery Humane Society say it's making a good recovery.
The dog, named "Vince" after WSFA 12 News assignment editor Vince Hodges, has gained six pounds, according to the humane society's Lea Turbert.
Turbert says Vince was taken into surgery Monday to have damage repaired on his neck. The dog got 240 stitches in the process.
"He's doing well," Turbert said. "He is one happy, sweet boy!"
An anonymous donor came forward following news of the dog's condition and donated money that insures the dog will be adopted.
