A dynamic storm system is expected to move across Alabama on Halloween night during the time many families hope to be trick-or-treating.
FOX6 Chief Meteorologist J-P Dice says the storm system will move from west to east Alabama between 5 p.m. and 11 p.m.
See the most current timeline below:
West Alabama (Hamilton, Fayette, Double Springs, Tuscaloosa, Jasper): 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.
I-65 Corridor (Birmingham, Hoover, Cullman, Clanton): 7 p.m. – 10 p.m.
East Alabama (Gadsde3n, Anniston, Pell City): 8 p.m. – 11 p.m.
Dice says damaging straight-line winds are possible, and winds could reach speeds up to 35 to 40 mph before the main line moves in.
The system is still lacking instability that could create tornadoes, but there is a significant wind shear, Dice adds. There is a slight risk for severe weather mainly in west and northwest parts of Alabama.
