Helena Police blocked off the Laurel Lakes subdivision for several hours Tuesday to investigate a traffic fatality.
Detective Sgt. Chris Rollan says that a 60-year-old male was struck and killed by a single vehicle shortly before 4 p.m. on Laurel Lakes Drive.
Rollan says that the victim was using a backpack leaf blower and standing in the road when he was struck.
He says this appears to be an unfortunate accident and adds that investigators don't believe the pedestrian lived in the neighborhood.
Investigators have not releaed the names of those involved in the accident. They will turn their findings over to the District Attorney's Office to determine if any charges will be filed in the case.
