A Master Gardener since 2005, Central Alabama Master Gardeners' Assn (CAMGA) member Rhona Watson, Wetumpka, will share information on ‘Recycling Yard & Kitchen Waste by Composting' at the November 13th ‘Lunch & Learn'.  Watson will discuss the benefits of composting, how to compost and will provide samples of different kinds of compost.

The ‘Lunch & Learn' will be held at the Alabama Cooperative Extension Services (ACES) facility on Queen Ann Road just off Rte 14 on the west side of Wetumpka.  The free program will begin at noon and end at 1pm.   Attendees are encouraged to bring their own Lunch and Learn about gardening during their lunch hour.  Beverages are provided at no charge.

Since the first ‘Lunch & Learn' in Wetumpka  in January, the events have featured pruning techniques, starting plants from seed, soil testing and making your own potting soil, raised bed gardening and home veggie gardens as well as house plants and growing and using herbs, all about Hydrangeas, Heirloom Gardens and more.  The ‘Lunch & Learn' series, attracting 30-50 attendees each month, will continue on the second Wednesday of each month.  Additional subjects for the next several months  include sessions on  using natural materials from the landscape with which to decorate for the holidays, pruning trees & shrubs, exploring the world of succulents, etc.
